Banana Peanut Butter Smoothie

Sweets and drinksDrinksEurope and North AmericaAbout 15 minutes

A good banana peanut butter smoothie is thick and smooth, with the scent of roasted peanuts. Underripe bananas are the problem, since they leave the glass thin and slightly astringent.

Bananas that are evenly yellow and soft to the squeeze blend up with the most aroma. Peel them, cut them into pieces and blend with peanut butter, honey and milk until completely smooth.

This batch weighs about 418g, at roughly 89 calories per 100g.

Method

  1. Peel the bananas, cut them into pieces and put them in the blender jug.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon peanut butter, 1/2 teaspoon honey and 200ml unsweetened oat milk.
  3. Blend until completely smooth.
  4. Pour into a glass, stir and serve at once.

Tips

  • Bananas that are evenly yellow and soft to the squeeze give the most aroma and natural sweetness.
  • Cut the bananas into short pieces so the blender catches them and the mixture smooths out faster.
  • For a thicker glass, freeze the bananas for 30 minutes before blending.
  • Drink it straight after blending, since the banana darkens and loses its aroma on standing.
  • Honey is still sugar, so measure the 1/2 teaspoon exactly and skip the extra drizzle.
