Sinh To Chuoi Viet Quat (Banana Blueberry Smoothie) Recipe
Sweets and drinksDrinksVietnamAbout 35 minutes including chilling the blueberries
A banana blueberry smoothie takes only a few minutes in the blender. Thickness is the thing to get right, since too much ice thins the flavor and too little leaves it warm.
Chilling the blueberries for about 30 minutes before blending gives a thicker, colder smoothie without extra ice. Blend 25 to 30 seconds until no ice shards remain.
This batch weighs about 240g, at roughly 89 calories per 100g.
Method
Peel 1 ripe banana and cut it into short pieces.
Trim the stems from 80g blueberries, wash them, drain well and chill them in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
Put the banana, blueberries, 40ml oat milk, 20ml honey and the ice cubes into a blender.
Pulse to combine, then blend 25 to 30 seconds until smooth, deep purple and free of ice shards.
Pour into a glass, garnish with banana slices and a few blueberries, and serve at once.
Tips
Chilling the blueberries before blending gives a thicker, colder smoothie without extra ice.
Pulse first to combine the ingredients, then blend straight through in one run.
A full 25 to 30 seconds of blending clears the ice shards and evens out the color.
Honey is still sugar, and 20ml is the right amount here.
Drink it straight after blending, since it separates on standing.
